It’s been more than a year at Brandcore (brandcore.sg), and I have been enjoying my role here as Head of Video Productions in the company. We’ve been running rather lean, and I have been doing what I have been doing all this while, filming, writing, directing while also figuring out what are the upcoming trends in the use of A.I in our work.

New Eyes

I guess you would have heard by now about my new gadget, the Canon EOS 7D. The main thing is, it is now hopefully much easier to come up with content, because time taken to render and compress aside, it is actually easier to do bite sized video clips than with my usual equipment.

Anyway, looking at these moments make me reflect on how fast Harkman’s growing up. He’s ability to pick up new skills is amazing. He’s just started taking cereal for two weeks and he wants to have a go at holding his own spoon already!

Internet Message In A Bottle?

Ok… What’s up with putting a strange guy’s photo on my blog?

I’ve received a strange request on Friendster one day, from a stranger, by the name of Yoke Ping.

Now, I’m usually a very suspicious person, especially about spam and scams. But, well, she had a full detailed Friendster page, and left an email address, so why not find out more. I’ve been watching an incredibly romantic JDorama called Densha Otoko, and the similarities are there.

I’ve always been intrigued by the use of the Internet for good causes. Yes it is sickening after so many chain mails that lead to nowhere, but always, there’s this part of me that believes that, yes, it’s possible that there might be someone with a real need out there.

So I followed up, by emailing her, and so far, I’ve had human replies, and as much as I can ascertain, she’s a living breathing decent person.

So this is me doing my bit. This is what I’ve gathered. This is her friendster page http://profiles.friendster.com/user.php?uid=11256457 and her blog http://ypig930.blog.friendster.com/ if you want to find out more, but basically, she’s searching for a friend whom she had met at a temp job, from what I gather.

A guy who started out as a stranger, but who offered the friendship and support when she needed it the most. His name is Chua Y’ng Gien @ Chua yong jien, age 27-28yrs old, last known area he was staying is Ang Mo Kio. He was serving his NS around 2005 or 2006.

Yoke Ping would be leaving Singapore, maybe for good, and she wants to leave, knowing that this friend of hers is doing fine, and maybe to thank him one more time. If you believe in her cause, do help to spread the word, try to find out where he is?

The Baby Comes… Ultrasound Images

“If you look at this thingy here…” Dr Ang pointed on the screen, “it’s fairly obvious that it’s
a boy.”

The ultrasound scan is never 100% accurate, as most doctors would point out. But it tends
to be more accurate when the sypnosis is that the baby is a boy. (Unless our baby has a
dark sense of humor, and decides for some reason to fool us all by holding a middle finger
sign with her hands.)

So mum and dad are fairly excited because it means that shopping can be done, finally.

“Oh, evil marketers, and all your cute colour coordinated offerings!”
